The prevalence of Schizophrenia is a little over 1%, of Bipolar Disorder over 2.5%, and close to 7% of adults have a Major Depressive Episode in a given year. Serious Mental Illness costs Americans over $193 billion in lost earnings in a year; suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S., and the 2nd leading cause in ages 15-24.
