Dr. Minhas

Hassan M. Minhas MD is a psychiatrist with training in Adult Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Forensic Psychiatry. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Currently Dr. Minhas is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Yale University School of Medicine, and is the chief of Autism Services the Hospital for Special Care. He is also the medical director of the Turnbridge Adolescent Residential Program.

He graduated medical school from Rawalpindi Medical College, then completed his residency at the renowned Brown University Program, and continued to do a two year fellowship in Pediatric Psychiatry. During his residency and fellowship Dr. Minhas worked at several hospitals including the free standing Butler Hospital, and at Bradley hospital – the first neuropsychiatric hospital for children in the U.S. During his training, Dr. Minhas worked on several projects on understanding the genetics of autism, and published and presented his findings on national forums. Following his clinical training, he continued a one year fellowship at Yale University in Law and Psychiatry.

Dr. Minhas has been the recipient of many awards and fellowships. Some of these include the APA Leadership Fellowship, the Brain Conference Travel Award, and the Martin B. Keller Award for the outstanding resident at Brown University in the graduating year, and the Haffenreffer Family Resident Award.

Dr. Minhas is an advocate for mental health services, and is deeply involved in advocacy, research, and international collaborations.
